Frequently Asked Questions
ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS
Why should I choose Aggieland Pet Sitting to care for my pet?
We are trustworthy, experienced, and reliable. We are passionate about pet care and carry out the responsibilities entrusted to us in a caring, responsible manner. We take the safety of your pet very seriously at all times, and truly treat them as our own. We are proud to have won Best Pet Sitting Service in Insite Media’s Best of the Brazos 2022 and 2023.
We are licensed through the State of Texas, and insured through Pet Care Insurance. We are members of Pet Sitters International. We are comfortable handling pets of different sizes and behaviors, as well as administering various medications. Your pet will remain in their familiar, secure environment and routine. This significantly reduces the stress and discomfort of your pet while you are away.
Our pet care professionals are employees, not independent contractors. Employees are selected based on their experience and length of time working with various types of animals. They are background checked, insured, and bonded. If an emergency should occur while you’re away, we will send a back-up pet care professional from our reliable team. We serve the College Station and Bryan area. Please see the “Service Area” page for more info on the neighborhoods we service.
How do I get started?
Once you’ve read through our services and pricing, you can create an account in our client portal and we will get back to you promptly during business hours. You may also call or text us at 979-402-4805 with any initial questions about our services. Upon signing up in the portal, you will receive a welcome email with instructions on filling out your profile. All service agreements must be read and signed before reservations are made. Once completed, you may request your pet care visits online at any time.
Once the above has been completed, we’ll review your needs and then will contact you to set up a complimentary meet and greet. We will meet you and your pets, learn their pet care routine, and help set up your lockbox (if applicable).
What types of pet(s) do you care for?
How do I know my pets are being cared for?
We use the best pet sitting software in the industry, Time to Pet! All employees have the Time to Pet app installed on their phone. They check in when they arrive at your home and check out when they leave. Their location is GPS marked and time stamped when they arrive and leave your home. Once the visit has been completed, you will receive a detailed report card including photos of your pets and how they did during the visit. We include information about their health, happiness level, eating and potty patterns, etc. The conversations are kept in the portal for future reference, if needed. If you are unable to receive messages via the app, you may log into your account anytime via web browser, or receive them over email.
What can I expect you to do for my pet while you're in my home?
The comfort and safety of your pet is our #1 priority. In addition to thorough on-the-job training, our pet care professionals will follow a detailed checklist to ensure your pet’s routine is followed correctly during each visit. They also adhere to multiple safety standards, including ensuring secure gates, supervised outdoor time, not allowing your dog to interact with other dogs on walks, fresh water at all times, and more.
In the event of an emergency, we will take your pet to their primary Veterinarian. If they are closed or unavailable, we will take your pet to the Texas A&M Emergency Clinic. We know every pet’s comfort and trust levels are different, so we let your pet dictate how much interaction they’ll have with their sitter. We will never chase your pet around the house, and will always communicate any concerns with you.
We will immediately communicate any concerns with you. If we are unable to reach you, we will communicate concerns with your emergency contact.
How much notice in advance do you need?
During the busy summer months and holidays, we prefer at least 2-3 weeks notice, but in an emergency situation, we will aim to assist you immediately. Requests made after 5pm the day before will incur an additional flat fee of $5. A new client in-home consultation is an absolute requirement before we can provide your first pet care visit.
What are your business hours?
Office hours are from 8am-5pm Monday through Friday and 11am-4pm Saturday and Sunday. These are the hours that we respond to new inquiries and bookings. However, if we are currently taking care of your pets, you may contact us outside of these hours!

Why do you have a team of Pet Care Specialists?
Having a team of Pet Care Specialists has many benefits, including:
- Reliability: 100% guarantee a visit will never be missed if an emergency were to arise and your assigned Pet Care Specialist is no longer available.
- Consistency: Your pet receives consistent care even if one Specialist is unavailable. This helps maintain a routine for your pets, which is especially beneficial for those with specific needs or medical requirements!
- Availability: We hardly ever have to turn away our clients for last minute reservations.
- Flexibility: Having a team provides greater flexibility in scheduling. You can choose the time slots that suits your pets needs, which are fully tailored to your pets routine.
- Peace of Mind: Knowledge that your pets are cared for by a dedicated and skilled team, reducing stress and worry.
- Best of all, your pets get to make new friends!
Each and every Pet Care Specialist passes a full federal background check, and was extensively vetted and trained by Natalie, our owner and CEO. Everyone is trained to perform all tasks to the highest standards.
Will I have the same sitter each time I use your services?
While we do our best to have the same sitter come to your home as frequently as possible, we can not guarantee the same sitter each time you use us. We work as a team and constantly communicate with each other, so all information is passed onto each sitter caring for your pet.
We update your information in our pet sitting software as well. There are instances where sitters are unavailable due to illness, vacation, personal obligations, or schedule conflicts. Our promise to you is that we will always have a qualified, fully trained sitter to cover your pet care needs. Our sitters are qualified employees (not independent contractors) who are team members. They are insured, bonded, and background checked. We have found that our clients quickly get used to our team and are happy with the service we provide!
If you would feel more comfortable meeting each sitter before they come into your home, we would be happy to schedule a meet and greet with you and them for $25 per additional meet and greet. Please note that this may become costly as time goes on and various new sitters are caring for your pet— If this is a critical priority to you, we may not be the best fit for you and your pet.
Do I give you a key to my home?
We do not retain keys. We ask that you provide at least 1 key to us in the form of a lockbox, which can be purchased from Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, or Amazon prior to services beginning. Even if you ask us to enter through an electric garage door or a door code, we still require at least 1 key as a back-up in the event of a malfunction with the garage door.
Do you always visit at the time I ask for?
Due to the nature of our schedule, we do not guarantee exact times. Instead, we utilize time blocks and guarantee to be there during those time blocks. If a certain time is critical due to medications, etc please let us know.
Our time blocks are as follows:
Morning: 6am to 10am
Midday: 10am to 2pm
Late Afternoon: 2pm to 5pm
Evening: 5pm to 9pm
How and when do I pay for services?
Payment is due in full on the first day of service. For vacation pet sitting reservations, payment is due by the first visit. Daily/weekly dog walking clients are billed weekly every Friday. For holiday pet sitting reservations, we require a 50% deposit to book (refundable if cancelled 14 days before the start of service) and the remaining 50% due on the first day of service.
Please Note: We require at least 1 visit per day and a minimum 5 paid visits for new clients. Unused visits remain as a credit for 12 months. NO EVERY OTHER DAY VISITS.
We accept all major credit cards and checks only.
What is your cancellation policy?
Because we are 100% dedicated to you when you make a reservation and will turn away other reservations, our cancellation policy is as follows:
Vacation/Drop-In Visits:
- More than 2 weeks notice: Full refund
- 7-14 days notice: 75% refund
